Christ Church is known locally as ‘The Shepherd’s Church’ and it’s easy to see why when you consider the shepherding links! The church is surrounded by bleating sheep and the hilltop farms that house their shepherds. The lych-gate carries the words from St John’s gospel ‘ I am the gate of the sheep’ and all of the windows inside the church depict pastoral scenes from the Bible, each featuring sheep and shepherds. These windows are amongst the finest collection you will find anywhere in the country and they are crowned by our beautiful East window, showing Christ, the Good Shepherd.
