Cannot believe we are now in October!!!!
Congratulations to Rosemarie and Bryan Prest on their recent charity Clay Pigeon Event sponsored by Foxholes Country Pursuits and Banks Lyon Jewellers Lancaster. It was a great success and raised a whopping £16,000 for St Marks Church. Well done to everyone involved and to those who supported the event.

Planning on having a declutter? Bring your unwanted items please to Over Wyresdale Village Hall. We will be at the Parish Hall on Thursday 28th October and Friday 29th October from 4.00pm - 6.00pm. We will accept Clothes, Shoes, Bags, belts, Light weight blankets, books, re-usable toys etc
Also we are looking for donations of raffle prizes and tray bakes. Please contact me if you would like further information.
Harvest Supper - Planned for Friday 8th - Unfortunately, after much discussion by the PCC, it has been decided not to hold a Harvest Supper this month. But we still can all get together on Sunday for the Harvest Service.
Saturday 9th - St Marks Forest Church Roadtrip, in partnership with The Forest of Bowland Moorland Group. Saturday 9th and Sunday 10th - Olive Branch. Helen and Rob Foster will be collecting again for the food bank this Harvest weekend. If you would like to donate please leave in your usual spots, letting Helen and Rob know and if you're a new donor, please contact Helen to let her know that you will have a parcel for them to collect. Please see below, items that the Olive Branch need or are running low helping local families in this area.
Sunday 10th - Mini Youth Group for Minis - 4.00pm -5.30pm followed by Harvest Service. If you would like your child/ren to attend please contact Jackie Entwistle on the fb group.
Saturday 16th - The next Partners in Environment Youth Group will be from running 10am -1pm meeting in Abbeystead. It is for secondary school aged children. They will be working with Wyre Rivers Trust doing flood prevention measures, they will help by making leaky dams from brash bundles, which slows the flow of water and silt downstream. Also they will be searching for aquatic invertebrates which can give an indication of the health of the eco system. Wellies and waterproofs are a must for this session.

Wed 21st - Whist and Domino will be starting up again (every 3rd Wednesday of the month) at Over Wyresdale Parish Hall. Starting at 7.30pm entry £2.00
Friday 22nd (inset) Cawthorne Endowed - Half term back in school Monday 1st November
Applications for Cawthorne Endowed School - Parents can now start to apply for primary places starting in September 2022 at www.lancashire.gov.uk/schools. This year the information packs have been published online only. If you would like a hard copy of the packs then please let Cawthorne know. The deadline to apply for a school place for September 2022 is 15th January 2022.
If you know of any parents locally and around the Lancaster area that are searching for a place for their children, please pass this information on. They are welcome to contact the school during term time and arrange a visit to the school along with their children. Saturday 30 - Jumble Sale 2.00pm - 5.30pm. We will be holding this event at the Parish Hall. £2 entry which will include refreshment and a slice of cake. There will be a raffle also. Please do come and support our sale as all monies raised will be divided between Church, Friends of Cawthorne and the Parish Hall.
